Emart's stock price is up more than 3% in early trading on the 12th. This is attributed to the announcement made by Emart concerning plans to enhance corporate value.
Emart's shares were trading at 69,700 won on the KOSPI market at 9:48 a.m. on the day. This represents an increase of 3.57% (2,400 won) from the previous day. During the trading session, the price even rose to 70,000 won.
Emart's plan to expand shareholder returns appears to have improved investor sentiment. According to the corporate value enhancement plan released the previous day, Emart has raised the minimum dividend per share from 2,000 won to 2,500 won. To increase the dividend amount, an additional 13.4 billion won will be utilized annually. Furthermore, it has been decided to retire more than 50% of its treasury stock by 2026.
Emart also expressed its commitment to enhance its investor relations (IR) activities and actively reflect market opinions from an investor's perspective.
Emart has also successfully turned a profit. Emart's consolidated operating profit for last year was provisionally recorded at 47.1 billion won.
