A 90-year-old who suffered from an illness will also be able to enroll in health insurance.
Financial authorities noted on the 11th that starting April 1, a new health insurance plan for seniors and individuals with pre-existing conditions will be launched, expanding the enrollment and coverage age. Accordingly, starting in April, seniors and individuals with pre-existing conditions under 90 will also be able to enroll in health insurance. Currently, enrollment in health insurance for the elderly is limited to those under 75, while individuals with pre-existing conditions can enroll only if they are under 70.
The coverage age for health insurance will also increase. Health insurance enrollees will receive coverage only up to 90 years old, but starting in April, they will be able to receive coverage up to 110 years old. The extension of the coverage age will also apply to existing health insurance enrollees and will be automatically extended in line with the 3-year reinvestment period.
