The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 9th that it will expand the English electronic disclosure system (DART) content and open an English open data platform on the 10th to enhance the accessibility of disclosure information for foreign investors.

The English DART has been improved to allow real-time checking of key legal disclosure items in English.

Following the improvement of the English disclosure service in July 2023, legal disclosures such as business reports were available in English as soon as they were submitted.

However, since the entire main text was disclosed in Korean, foreigners who did not know Korean had to use artificial intelligence (AI) translation tools to understand it.

In response, the FSS improved the ability to check standardized content such as the table of contents and formats for all legal disclosures, including business reports, in English.

Additionally, while search was previously possible only by company name in the English DART, it has been enhanced to also allow searches by report title, similar to the Korean DART.

The FSS has newly established an English open data platform that provides information on 83 types of English disclosures in data form.

To allow foreign investors to download the original disclosure documents in real-time, it provided a data transmission interface (API) and established a service to provide the entire listing company's international standard computer language (XBRL) annotations as big data.

The FSS noted, "With this improvement, the use of English DART will be further activated," and added, "Unlike other non-English speaking countries, all services will be provided free of charge, and the scope of information provided is expected to expand, alleviating the Korea discount."
