Naver Pay announced on the 6th that it will apply the K-Pass to its mobile transportation card. The Naver Pay mobile transportation card is a service that allows users to tag their mobile device to public transportation terminals such as buses and subways for immediate payment without needing to launch a separate application through NFC (Near Field Communication).
With the K-Pass benefits applied, users who utilize public transportation at least 15 times a month with the Naver Pay mobile transportation card can receive a certain percentage of their expenditure refunded up to a maximum of 60 times a month. The general population can receive 20%, the youth can receive 30%, and low-income groups can receive up to 53.3%. Additional discount benefits for large families and other eligible recipients are also available. The K-Pass refund benefits will automatically be provided in the form of recharges on the 20th of the month following the use of the transportation card.
K-Pass benefits can be utilized through a simple procedure of registering the Naver Pay mobile transportation card number on the K-Pass website. Existing K-Pass subscribers will also need to register the K-Pass linked to Naver Pay anew, and their previous K-Pass will be automatically canceled.
After setting the Naver Pay mobile transportation card as the default transportation card on their mobile device, users can utilize it by keeping the NFC function of that device activated. For more details regarding the Naver Pay 'mobile transportation card' K-Pass benefits, users can check the transportation card page after entering the QR payment page at the bottom of the Naver Pay app and selecting 'Register K-Pass.'
