Kiwoom Securities noted on the 22nd that its 'Startup-specific equity-linked bonds (ELB)' has been selected as an excellent example of 'coexistence and cooperation financial new products,' being the first among securities firms.
The Financial Supervisory Service has been selecting and announcing financial products that contribute to solving social issues through sharing the burdens and benefits with vulnerable groups since 2023. While mainly mentioning bank loans or deposit products, and insurance company pension and savings insurance products, Kiwoom Securities' startup-specific ELB was the first to be listed among securities investment products.
Previously, Kiwoom Securities launched the startup-specific ELB to address social issues such as low birth rates and income polarization. This special offer product is available for newlyweds within 7 years of marriage, young people aged 29 or younger, and active military personnel. Regardless of stock price fluctuations, if held until maturity, it can yield an annual profit of 5%.
Um Joo-sung, the representative of Kiwoom Securities, said, "It seems that many young people are anxious about falling behind their peers in asset accumulation due to the investment success stories overflowing around them," and added, "I wanted to provide them with the message that it's okay to gradually accumulate money, which led to the decision to launch the product."
