Jeong Young-chae, former CEO of NH Investment & Securities, is moving to Meritz Securities. Meritz Securities has been hiring consecutively while expanding its institutional sector (IB) division.
On the 17th, people in the financial investment industry said Jeong, the former CEO, will take the full-time adviser position at Meritz Securities. His term is one year but it is reported that it can be extended annually. After stepping down as CEO of NH Investment & Securities in March last year, Jeong had served in an advisory role.
It appears to be linked to Meritz Securities nurturing its institutional sector. Jeong is regarded as an "IB expert." He served as head of IB, head of underwriting, and head of planning at Daewoo Securities (now Mirae Asset Securities), and from 2005 he served for 13 years as head of the IB division at NH Investment & Securities (then Woori Investment & Securities). He became CEO of NH Investment & Securities in 2018 and served three consecutive terms.
Meritz Securities also hired Song Chang-ha, former head of syndication at NH Investment & Securities, as an executive director. It is reported that Meritz Securities plans to organize a syndication-related division centered on Executive Director Song. The syndication organization plays a role within IB in building networks with investors.
