Woori Financial Group announced on the 14th that it has jointly invested $150 million (about 210 billion won) in two data centers in the United States in collaboration with French investment bank Natixis.
The investment targets are the data centers in Arizona and Virginia, both of which have signed a 15-year long-term lease agreement with Amazon.
Woori Financial explained that the investment in the U.S. data centers aligns with the incoming Trump administration's 'America First' policy. A Woori Financial official noted, "The enhancement of tariffs and trade barriers compels overseas corporations to directly invest in the U.S. and build localized business models."
