SK Hynix is showing strong performance.
As of 9:37 a.m. on the 10th, SK Hynix is trading at 210,000 won, up 2.44%. The previous day, SK Hynix had risen by 5.29%.
This is interpreted as a result of Chairman Choi meeting NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at the SK exhibition hall during CES 2025, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA.
At this meeting, Choi noted, "Now, a slight reversal is starting to happen," and added, "I don't know when it will turn, but the whole story regarding high-bandwidth memory (HBM) is that we are making each other develop faster in a head-to-head manner."
NVIDIA has consistently requested SK Hynix to develop quickly, but now the situation has reversed as SK Hynix's development speed has increased. This indicates that Chairman Choi has also revealed the competitiveness of SK Hynix in development.
Meanwhile, SK Hynix began supplying the fifth generation of HBM, HBM3E 8-high, for the first time in the industry last March. Seven months later, in October, it started mass production of HBM3E 12-high products, also as a world first.
