Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, met with Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, and shared a positive outlook on the development speed of high bandwidth memory (HBM). Following this meeting, SK Hynix showed strong performance early in the trading session on the 9th.

As of 9:29 a.m. on this day, SK Hynix is trading at 201,500 won, up 6,800 won (3.49%) from the previous trading day.

On the 8th (local time), during the 'Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025' held in Las Vegas, the chairman noted that SK Hynix's development speed for high bandwidth memory (HBM) had surpassed that of NVIDIA, leading to a surge in buying interest.

On this day, the chairman said, "(After meeting with CEO Huang) we took the time to confirm this year's HBM supply volume set by our team," adding, "Until then, SK Hynix's development speed was lagging behind NVIDIA's, and the request was for us to develop faster. However, recently our development speed has exceeded NVIDIA's demands slightly."

While the chairman was explaining about SKC's glass substrates, he joked, saying, "I just sold them," leading to speculation that there may have been positive discussions regarding the supply of glass substrates as well. Consequently, SKC's stock also surged over 13% at the same time.
