KCGI Asset Management said the KCGI Vietnam Fund achieved a revenue of 31.7% last year, outperforming the benchmark Ho Chi Minh VN Index by 9.3 percentage points. This performance ranks second among Vietnamese funds managed domestically with an asset setting of over 50 billion won.
A KCGI Asset Management official noted, “After the change of major shareholders, we focused on reinforcing fund management, enhancing research functions, and strengthening risk management systems, and it is significant that the results have appeared.”
The KCGI Vietnam Fund paid dividends with a cash dividend rate of 11.4% as of the 6th. Since the fund's establishment in 2016, the accumulated revenue has reached 65.1%, while the cash dividend rate recorded 32.8%.
A KCGI Asset Management official said, “In a highly volatile market, when there are significant profits, we believe that confirming some of it through cash dividends is advantageous for investors, which is why we implemented a high rate of cash dividends this time,” and added, “We will continue to maintain investor-friendly policies in the future.”
KBCI Asset Management forecasted that protectionism might strengthen since the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump's second administration, but Vietnam can continue to develop its manufacturing and export industries based on its abundant labor force and lower wage levels compared to neighboring countries.
KCGI Asset Management also plans to expand investments in Asia, including India and Indonesia, in the medium to long term. Mok Dae-kyun, the chief executive officer of KCGI Asset Management, said, “We will focus the company’s capabilities on Asian countries that can replace China, including Vietnam (AltAsia), to find more revenue opportunities for our clients.”
KCGI Asset Management will hold a prize event on its website for investment clients, commemorating the 9th anniversary of managing the Vietnam Fund, with gold bars and other prizes awarded through a lottery. They also plan to hold online and offline seminars related to investment in Vietnam.
