The market capitalization of Samsung Group has decreased by over 160 trillion won this year.
According to the financial investment industry on the 29th, the market capitalization of Samsung Group's listed companies was 548.4413 trillion won as of the 26th, representing a decrease of 22.7% (161.25 trillion won) compared to the end of last year, which was 709.692 trillion won.
The market capitalization of Samsung Group also fell to 27.57% of the domestic stock market. After recording 38% in early January 2021, it had maintained above 30%, but has dropped below 30% in the second half of this year.
Samsung Group's listed companies include Samsung Electronics, Samsung Biologics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Life Insurance, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, among 22 companies. The significant drop in the stock price of Samsung Electronics, the leading listed company in the domestic stock market, which fell by nearly 32%, had a substantial impact.
In addition, 14 stocks, including Samsung SDI (-47.66%), Samsung E&A (-42.68%), Hotel Shilla (-42.58%), and Samsung SDS (-23.94%), showed weakness.
Due to the weak stock prices of Samsung Group's listed companies, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) themed around these companies also fell into decline. The 'KODEX Samsung Group Value' has dropped 14.15% since the beginning of the year.
