DB Insurance announced on the 27th that it has revised its 'Petblee Dog and Cat Insurance' product to expand coverage for common pet illnesses, including skin diseases and dental diseases.
Pet insurance mainly covers expenses incurred at veterinary clinics, similar to human medical expense products. It also covers liability for pets and condolence payments for the death of pets. To cover the regular and equipment inspection expense item, which accounted for the highest proportion of medical expenditure items last July, DB Insurance's Petblee dog and cat insurance developed a supplementary coverage policy for MRI and CT scans.
Additionally, the revision now allows compensation for dental treatment and specific skin drug treatments such as Apoquel, which were previously excluded.
A new discount system has also been applied through this revision. A 5% discount for multi-pet households and a 3% discount for adopting a stray animal have been added, allowing for a maximum 10% premium discount when combined with the existing 2% discount for submitting a pet registration certificate.
A DB Insurance official noted, 'We will continue to strive for the development of a mature pet care culture and the expanded coverage of pets.'
