The unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing company Sumbi successfully secured funding for a pre-initial public offering (pre-IPO).
According to the venture capital (VC) industry on the 23rd, Sumbi recently attracted 8 billion won in pre-IPO investment. Major investors included Honest Ventures, SL Investment, and LIG Nex1.
Sumbi plans to focus the newly raised funds on advancing technology for defense-related unmanned aerial vehicles and developing urban air mobility (UAM) vehicles, with an aim to challenge for an IPO next year.
Sumbi passed a technology evaluation in July and plans to apply for preliminary listing review in January.
Sumbi CEO Oh In-sun said, "We have been recognized for Sumbi's technological capabilities and growth potential," adding, "We will devote ourselves to developing unmanned aerial vehicle and UAM vehicle technology."
