Woori Bank announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement with Namyangju City and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to construct the Woori Financial Group's future-oriented integrated IT center, "Digital Universe."

At the signing ceremony, Woori Bank President Cho Byeong-kyu, Namyangju City Mayor Ju Kwang-deok, and Korea Land and Housing Corporation Namyangju Business Division Head Jang Hee-cheol attended and pledged to cooperate on the construction of the future-oriented integrated IT center. Namyangju City had previously selected Woori Bank as the recommended corporation for the Wangseok District No. 1 during the corporate attraction deliberation council held in November.

"Digital Universe" is expected to serve as Woori Financial Group's digital financial hub to respond to the acceleration of digital transformation, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud, and big data. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with the goal of completion in 2028. Plans are in place to establish IT core strategic facilities, including group IT development and operation facilities, a financial research and development center, and training facilities.
