The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service announced that they held an explanation session on the license examination for Internet-only banks at 2 p.m. on the 12th in the conference room of the Financial Supervisory Service in Yeouido, Seoul.
A total of 105 representatives from 44 corporations and organizations attended the session. The financial authorities explained the background and key examination points for the promotion of new licenses for Internet-only banks, as well as the general examination standards according to relevant regulations. Following the explanation, there was also a session to respond to inquiries from attendees concerning the licensing.
During the session, opinions were gathered regarding the schedule for receiving preliminary license applications targeted at prospective applicants. The financial authorities plan to finalize and announce the schedule for receiving preliminary license applications on the 19th, taking the gathered opinions into account.
