Previously, the Korea Exchange was certified as a qualified clearing organization by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in October 2015 and by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) in April 2016.

The Korea Exchange expects that the strengthening of credibility due to certification from major countries will enhance international credibility for the Korean market.

A Korea Exchange official noted, “As major countries' regulatory agencies recognize the international standard compliance of the Korean clearing and settlement system, our status as a global qualified clearing organization will be strengthened.”
