"Weracle" Park We's silence has continued for four weeks, and moves to cut ties are emerging in the broadcasting world.
On the 15th, OSEN confirmed that the CBS program Seizing the world in 15 minutes that aired on Oct. 1, 2019, featuring Park We's appearance titled "How to live a miraculous life" has been set to private.
Seizing the world in 15 minutes (hereinafter SeBasi) invites speakers from various fields to give lectures and is a program that addresses communication, healing, social recovery and practical content useful in daily life for people in Korea.
The reason the video was switched to private has not been made clear, but it appears to be because of the "social service agent targeting controversy" that began last month. Park We's SeBasi appearance video was made private, but the video featuring Song Ji-eun remains unchanged.
Park We's "social service agent targeting controversy" began with a video released on the 21st of last month. Park We, while using the KTX on the 14th of last month for a lecture, fell to the floor when the wheelchair's wheel caught on a wheelchair-only ramp during the disembarkation process and became entangled with a social service agent's foot.
The social service agent apologized, but Park We recorded the CCTV footage and posted it on his "Weracle" channel, which has 1 million subscribers. However, as the CCTV footage that could have identified the person and targeting remarks were pointed out, it was deleted, and Park We apologized, saying, "I thought only negatively about the mistake that occurred in the process of helping me better. My way of conveying it was unskilled and my thinking was short. I apologize to everyone who tried to help on site."
After the controversy, Park We stopped all activities. Scheduled lectures were all canceled, and he voluntarily resigned as a Seoul city PR ambassador. Not stopping there, past social experiment videos were reexamined, and his subscriber count fell to 947,000.
