Kim Bum Soo recalled the time seven years ago when he developed vocal problems, saying his voice still has not fully recovered and it trembles on certain notes, drawing attention.
Kim Bum Soo recounted the harrowing memory of being unable to take the stage on the day of a past performance due to a sudden deterioration in his throat condition. He said, "that issue continued to bother me," confessing the deep trauma the incident caused.
At one time he said, "the stage was the most fun playground," but now he complained of fear of the stage, saying, "when I try to go on stage my hands and feet go numb and sweaty, and my heart pounds so loudly I can hear it."
Kim Bum Soo went on to say, "I took about a year-long sabbatical and stopped singing and rested, but when I tried to get back on stage that panic returned," expressing bitter feelings. He said that even after the sabbatical his condition was not the same and his body did not obey his mind, revealing the hidden pain behind the title of legendary vocalist.
