Kwon Min-ah, formerly of girl group AOA, addressed posts accusing her of fraud and intimidation.
On the 14th, Kwon Min-ah wrote on her social media, "People reported to me that someone named OOO posted in a thread that I committed fraud and intimidation, so I am waiting for the original files," and added, "It was so absurd and the person did not communicate, so I didn't want to be misunderstood again and was going to stay quiet, but I'm writing this."
She continued regarding this incident, "This person was the one who first contacted me saying they really wanted to take lessons here, they were a fan, and then followed with the same predictable lines… because I had actually given teaching, they wanted lessons after that, but I also have a schedule, and our appointments kept clashing, I didn't see passion, and they only asked me to buy expensive meals."
Kwon Min-ah explained the process, "They demanded a full refund saying to forget about the rehearsal room rental fee already paid, and even after I refunded in full they suddenly apologized and said they could do well again and asked about the price list and wanted lessons," adding, "They said they wanted to take regular lessons several times a week for several hours, so I calculated and sent it, then they said it wouldn't work and we ended it, then they said it would work again, then said it wouldn't."
She said, "Suddenly they blamed me for the missed shows and said I had also missed lessons because of them and insisted we have lessons again, and when I refused a bit they said they would ask their friends if anyone had experienced this, that they would bring their entire paternal family and come meet me, so I blocked them."
Kwon Min-ah added, "But at the end they made such a scene that I got very angry too, and I had nothing to say when they said they would call their paternal family."
Kwon Min-ah said firmly, "I only calculated according to the timetable they wanted and tried to accommodate OO's lesson availability, but if appointment times keep being pushed back, I can't live just for OO. What did I do wrong to be accused of fraud and intimidation? If you want to sue, go ahead. In return, I will try suing for false accusation, or defamation."
Finally, Kwon Min-ah explained the situation, "At the end they made threatening remarks so I thought they might cause trouble, but everything has already reached my ears. I have all the KakaoTalk messages preserved in full just in case, so don't worry," and because she spoke out directly, attention is focusing on whether the matter will be resolved quickly.
Kwon Min-ah debuted with AOA in 2012 and was active, then left the group in 2019. She later claimed she had been bullied by members, and earlier this month her older sister alleged embezzlement amounting to hundreds of millions of won and wrongdoing toward their mother, exposing the conflict.
