Bumkey mentioned the period he was detained on drug charges.
On the 14th, the channel 'Lee Sung-mi's I can't go' posted a video titled "I prayed and then this happened.. the testimony first given together by the couple Bumkey♥Kang Da-hye."
Lee Sung-mi mentioned that Bumkey was investigated by prosecutors on drug charges. Bumkey said, "The drug case broke," and Kang Da-hye added, "They waited until we were separated to bring it up and make it explode."
Bumkey explained, "I was suddenly taken at such an absurd timing. When I was taken and looked into it, they brought up past incidents. While living in the U.S., I had a low awareness of drugs and a different perception. In Korea I lived with the thought, 'what kind of drug is this,' about something that is illegal. Although I knew it shouldn't be done, the perception was different from Korea's sentiment."
Bumkey said, "There were opportunities to come into contact with them in Korea. Of course I might have handled drugs and had such experiences, but at that time I was suddenly taken by prosecutors, and when I looked, the incidents were from two to three years earlier. The prosecutors came to my house. It was when I was alone."
Kang Da-hye explained at the time, "When I answered the phone, his voice was trembling. There was no evidence and nothing was found in his body, and he said he had hung out with bad guys and was being treated unfairly because of those men. (Hearing that) I went to the bathroom and offered a prayer of thanks. I didn't know how terrifying it was. After that he couldn't come home for six months."
Bumkey said, "I thought I would be out after two nights, but I ended up going to the detention center. I had never felt such injustice. There were alibis covering the times the prosecutors brought. Going to the detention center made me resolve to change. For six and a half months I had to think about all the sins. There was no time to be resentful."
Meanwhile, Bumkey was implicated in a 2015 case involving psychoactive drugs and was investigated by prosecutors, and the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office indicted Bumkey on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. Bumkey was acquitted in the sentencing trial on the drug charges.
