Kwon Sang-woo's eldest son, who is preparing for U.S. college admissions, got his license locally and showed off his confident driving skills.
On the 13th, the Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young channel uploaded a video titled "Grilling clams in the U.S.? Son Tae-young♥Kwon Sang-woo double date with close friends vlog (+BTS concert)".
Kwon Sang-woo said, "(Our eldest son) Luk-hee finally got his license, and yesterday the three friends each drove their own cars, met up, hung out in Fort Lee and came back," mentioning his suddenly grown son. Son Tae-young said, "Luk-hee finally got his license. But she said that the time spent waiting in line to get the driving permit took two hours, longer than the driving test time," and added, "The kids said they stood in line for two hours. According to my husband, the driving test was very easy. It's different from Korea," saying the U.S. is easier.
An acquaintance said, "(U.S. driver's licenses) are not difficult," and Son Tae-young said, "They wait so you don't have to park so fast; for us it's over in a flash, but here it feels a bit more relaxed."
Kwon Sang-woo said, "It feels like my son took his first step into full adulthood," praising him, and Son Tae-young said, "He went to meet friends yesterday and when I asked, 'Is it far?' he said, 'No, it's the place I always practiced with uncle.' I said, 'Then go ahead,' and then I got a text from him. (So I wouldn't worry) he sent a 'survival report' and 'parking complete,'" she laughed.
Kwon Sang-woo said, "Under U.S. law you can only drive from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. I heard you can't drive if it's just after 10 p.m.," informing viewers. Son Tae-young said, "(You can if a guardian is present) but there is a time restriction until they are adults." Kwon Sang-woo added, "But (in our house) parents can't be around after 11. Son Tae-young goes to bed at 10," drawing laughter.
Son Tae-young gifted her son a used car in the first half of this year to prepare him for U.S. college admissions. Her brother-in-law and she bought a large Jeep as a used car from a U.S. local used car dealership, and the price was reported to range from the mid-30 million won range to the high-40 million won range.
