Singer-songwriter Taeb2 is joining THE MERSENNE as a new member and preparing for a full-fledged leap forward.
The MERSENNE said on the 14th, "We recently signed an exclusive contract with Taeb2," and added, "We highly evaluated Taeb2's creative capabilities and growth potential, as she completes her own emotions and narratives directly through music." It went on to say, "We will systematically support music production, management, and overall content so that Taeb2 can preserve her musical color while meeting a larger audience."
Taeb2 debuted in 2019 with the first EP Blue : That's me be and has steadily pursued music activities as a rapper, singer-songwriter and producer. Based on a musical spectrum that freely moves between hip-hop, R&B and indie pop, she has built her own musical world by expressing the emotions of youth living in the same era—love and breakup, anxiety and growth—through honest lyrics and sensuous melodies.
In particular, the signature song "blue" is considered the track that imprinted Taeb2's name on the public. Since its release in 2019, it drew attention on social media after receiving shout-outs from K-pop artists such as SEVENTEEN's Jeonghan, Park Jihoon and Oh My Girl's Mimi, and through word of mouth it has continued to receive steady love, establishing itself as Taeb2's representative song.
Taeb2 has consistently released singles and EPs that reflect her own color by participating directly in lyrics and composition. In songs such as "Even among the falling stars," "I met you with nothing," "Saying I will find you again," and "You're pretty," she expanded her own narrative by expressing delicate emotional lines through music.
She also showed musical versatility across genres by collaborating with various artists such as Skinny Brown, Jayci yucca, CRUCiAL STAR, ELO and No Yoon Ha. In July, she was selected as the fourth artist for Dingo Music's music curation project Dingo Palette, further expanding her activities.
Hwang Gyu-wan, CEO of THE MERSENNE, who will share Taeb2's new start, is also an expert who has worked with various artists in the entertainment industry for 27 years. CEO Hwang entered the entertainment industry in 2000 at World Music handling Country Kko Kko, then passed through Pan Entertainment and YG Entertainment, and served as vice president of P NATION.
In particular, since 2001 he has accompanied Psy for a long time and gained broad experience by working across the activities of artists spanning generations and genres, including Kim Jang Hoon, Lee Jung Hyun, Jessi, Hyuna, Crush and Heize.
THE MERSENNE plans to make Taeb2's recruitment a new turning point based on the execution power it has accumulated in concert planning and artist agency work. It plans to expand into artist branding, content and IP business as well as music production to more broadly showcase Taeb2's musical capabilities.
