Recently, Ogawa Makoto revealed at once to local Japanese media the marriage, childbirth and divorce she had not previously disclosed.
According to reports, after leaving her agency, Ogawa Makoto filed a marriage registration with Makita Takuma, a member of the band wyse with whom she was linked romantically in 2015, and later gave birth to a son.
Regarding why she did not disclose this until now, Ogawa Makoto said, "I chose not to announce the marriage because I wanted to keep work and private life completely separate."
However, the two decided to divorce in 2020, and custody is currently with the child's father, Makita Takuma. Ogawa Makoto explained, "After many conversations, including about our work, we wanted the child to continue living in the same environment."
She added that even after the divorce she did not mention the marriage, childbirth or divorce because "a considerable amount of time has passed since the divorce, and there was no timing to suddenly announce that I 'married' or 'gave birth.'"
In particular, Ogawa Makoto expressed gratitude to her ex-husband Makita Takuma, who is raising the child alone without remarrying, saying, "He seems to live for our son. He pours all his affection into raising him. I trust him greatly as a father and am also grateful."
On the same day, Makita Takuma also posted on his personal account, saying, "As the article states, I am the father of a 10-year-old son. And I am a single father. I am Takuma of wyse and solo singer Makita Takuma, and I am also the father of my one and only son who is more precious than my life.
