Actor Ji Ye-eun announced her marriage to dancer Vata five months after their public relationship began, while drawing a line on premarital pregnancy rumors.
On Dec. 12 the official YouTube channel of SBS 'Running Man' posted a pre-release video showing members talking together about Ji Ye-eun's marriage announcement.
That day Ji Ye-eun began the 'Running Man' opening recording amid members' congratulations, and Yu Jae-seok opened his mouth saying, "While recording last week I casually told the members and they didn't know." Haha also laughed, "I even mentioned the date but the members just skimmed past it."
Ji Ye-eun said she had heard reactions from those around her that the quick decision to marry after the public relationship began was "early," but explained that she had already decided to marry before revealing the relationship.
Ji Ye-eun emphasized, "Early, early. Some ask, 'Isn't it a premarital pregnancy?' but it's unfair because I do not have a child," and added, "There is no plan yet, and I want to enjoy newlywed life."
Ji Ye-eun also explained the reason she decided to marry Vata, saying, "He is such a warm person and even speaks nicely when we argue. He was a steady support when I was sick. I think the person who stays by you when you're sick is the best."
Meanwhile, Ji Ye-eun and Vata, both born in 1994, began their public relationship in April. The two are reported to have grown close through shared interests and religion, and will hold their wedding on Dec. 12.
The agency said, "The two promised to share each other's lives based on deep faith. We ask for warm congratulations and support for the couple as they face a new beginning."
