Actress Kim Ye-ryeong said she debuted while hiding the fact that she was divorced and that she had a daughter.
On the 13th episode of MBN's "While you were in pain," actress Kim Ye-ryeong appeared and spoke about it.
That day Kim Ye-ryeong opened up about how she debuted in the entertainment world, saying, "It was a very depressing day. An acquaintance recommended a salon in Myeongdong, and when I went to get my hair done they asked if I would be a wedding model."
She went on, "At first I refused, but they said they would give me 300,000 won. At the time a monthly salary was 500,000 to 600,000 won," and explained, "After shooting like that, I hadn't thought of acting as a job, but I found it very appealing."
Kim Ye-ryeong said, "When I was cast I was 27 years old. At that time I said 'ajumma.' I had a daughter," and added, "I wasn't a married woman. It was already after my divorce then."
Her manager suggested hiding the fact that she was divorced and that she had a daughter. Kim Ye-ryeong said, "When they said that, I had to make money. And since this became my job, I started working."
Kim Ye-ryeong, who said she raised her daughter alone after giving up alimony and child support at the time of the divorce, confessed, "As a result, I became afraid to talk to people. When I talked, I had to reveal my private life, and lies seemed to breed more lies, so it was very hard."
Then an incident broke out. Kim Ye-ryeong said, "A reporter ran a big article in the paper calling me a 'virgin act.' I don't know how they found out, but it sent chills down my spine. I thought the time had come," and added, "At that time there was someone I was seeing, and that person was making a move on me. So it suddenly became a marriage article."
Although she thought she would be happy after marriage, Kim Ye-ryeong said another crisis came. She said, "I got married and had a son. The four of us lived together for a long time, but we began to fight because of an incident, and so we divorced. After the second divorce my heart hurt a lot."
Meanwhile, Kim Ye-ryeong debuted in the 1992 film "The Idiot Lover." Her daughter Kim Su-hyun also worked as an actress and married baseball player Yoon Seok-min in 2017. The two also appeared together on variety shows.
