Actress Han Chae-rin spoke about actor 정준원, who she worked with on "A Bona fide Killer".
On the afternoon of the 10th, at the OSEN building located in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, a wrap-up interview was held with MBC Friday-Saturday drama "A Bona fide Killer" actress Han Chae-rin.
Han Chae-rin played Goo Hae-na, an enthusiastic rookie reporter in the social affairs department of NotToday and the junior of reporter Kwon Tae-seong (정준원). From her fresh early appearances to running around crime scenes and the process of growing into a justice-driven reporter, she brought vitality to the drama as young professional Goo Hae-na.
That day Han Chae-rin spoke about working with 정준원, saying, "When I brought the script before filming and asked to practice, sunbae always came early and practiced everything with me. I was always grateful for that," and added, "It was a tense set, but working with sunbae eased my nerves so I could go into filming more relaxed, and I was always thankful for that."
Saying they were close on set as well, Han Chae-rin said, "As a junior I followed him around and practiced cues, and I think our on-screen chemistry was good in real life too. He took good care of me, and it felt like a set where I learned a lot."
정준원 is known to have a quiet personality. Asked whether that trait showed up often even after they became close, she said, "He seems the same always. But he was very kind. He bought lots of meals and expensive things," she boasted.
She continued, "He checked on me every time we filmed and talked to me. When there was a break between shoots he asked what I had been doing and encouraged me, so I think we filmed with a sense of team spirit," emphasizing Jung Jun-won's kind personality.
How did her family react to seeing her perform in "A Bona fide Killer"? Han Chae-rin, who has an older brother and a younger brother, said, "My family is so happy, maybe because this is my first terrestrial drama or because I had the most screen time. My brothers say I look pretty but also joke, 'Is your hair a bit bald?' (laughs)," revealing the down-to-earth sibling dynamics.
Han Chae-rin explained, "Still, I feel it more physically because my family loves me more than anyone. Since we live together, we feel that joy together. People around my parents talk about me too, so these days it feels real."
She said friends reacted similarly. She said, "Friends contact me saying, 'My parents saw you.' Friends are rather amazed, and their parents ask about me. Since it's a terrestrial drama, I feel grateful for that."
