Singer Baek Z Young candidly addressed rumors of a rift with Seo In Young.
On the 12th, a video titled "a lazy afternoon of Baek Z Young cooking rice she made herself with her husband Jung Seok-won at 1 p.m. on a weekday" was uploaded to Baek Z Young's YouTube channel.
That day Baek Z Young recalled meeting Seo In Young at the 'Frieze Seoul' event the day before filming for YouTube. She said she was a fan, noting, "We talked so much about YouTube. And I watch her YouTube a lot."
In particular, Baek Z Young said, "Yesterday In Young and I were like, 'Why did sister dislike me?' 'Why did I dislike you?' Neither of us can remember. So afterward when we met it was like, 'In Young~' 'unnie~' and it became like that," saying they became even closer.
She also said Seo In Young was approached before starting her YouTube channel. Baek Z Young said, "(Before opening the channel) they approached her, but she really couldn't do staged shoots. So we talked about that yesterday. With In Young. She said she hated those staged setups too. I told her, 'But you do it well,' and she replied, 'You know, unnie. When the camera suddenly turns on, we work hard again,'" she said.
Rumors of a rift between Seo In Young and Baek Z Young became public when Baek Z Young herself acknowledged them in 2013. At the time Baek Z Young appeared on SBS' Strong Heart and said, "I disliked everything about Seo In Young," airing a negative image. She said, "Later I had an opportunity to talk with In Young and learned she wasn't unpleasant. But I didn't want to reverse the feeling that I had started to dislike her," acknowledging the rift and saying, "After that incident I met Seo In Young and she said, 'Please don't hate me. Please think I'm pretty.' She was such a genuinely pretty person for saying that without guile," saying they resolved the misunderstanding and became close.
Meanwhile, when Seo In Young launched her YouTube channel Seo In-young's Turning Over a New Leaf, she also candidly addressed rumors of a rift with Baek Z Young. She said, "I was upset thinking Baek Z Young didn't like me," but explained that "they resolved the misunderstanding at an awards ceremony after party."
