Actor couple Bae Yong-joon and Park Su-jin are widely considered to have effectively retired from the entertainment world, and news of their recent whereabouts deepens the sense of regret.
The whereabouts of Bae Yong-joon·Park Su-jin were recently spotted in June, when Singaporean media released video saying the two were seen at Changi Airport Terminal 4.
The video showed Bae Yong-joon·Park Su-jin visiting Singapore with their two children, and Bae Yong-joon drew surprise with his long white hair tied back in a bun. Afterwards, Bae Yong-joon·Park Su-jin were spotted with Park Shin-hye·Choi Tae-joon aboard the Disney Adventure cruise in Singapore.
The cruise they boarded was Asia's first Disney cruise, "Disney Adventure," and the total expense for using one family cabin for four people was reported to be about 300,000 won for a three-night, four-day trip. For a four-night, five-day itinerary or using a premium cabin, prices range from 1,000,000 won per person up to as much as 10,000,000 won.
Three months later, on the 12th, Bae Yong-joon's whereabouts were spotted in an unexpected place. Amateur golf player Kim Seo-a posted a photo on social media in which he made a V sign with his fingers and smiled, and he was captured in it.
Wearing a white hat and sunglasses, Bae Yong-joon was dressed in comfortable golf wear in a green color and was smiling brightly. His 180cm tall frame and solid build, along with the familiar smile associated with "Yonsama," drew attention.
The reason his whereabouts leave a sense of regret is that his acting hiatus has lasted more than 10 years. Once called "Yonsama" and at the center of the Korean wave, he has not appeared in any works since his 2011 appearance in the KBS2 drama "Dream High."
Having not acted for 15 years, Bae Yong-joon is effectively retired from the entertainment world and is known to be focusing on business and investments. Since the 2010s he has effectively retired from the entertainment world and remained as the owner of KeyEast, then in 2018 he handed over management rights to SM Entertainment and received SM shares to become a major shareholder, becoming better known as a leading stockholder in the entertainment industry.
His wife Park Su-jin, who was active as a member of the girl group Sugar and as an actress, has become scarce in entertainment activities since marriage and is effectively on the path to retirement, which remains a disappointment for fans. Park Su-jin's last appearance on TV was in 2016 on Olive channel's "Oksu-dong Sujeja," and her last work was the 2013 KBS2 "Sword and Flower," so more than 10 years have quickly passed.
