Brave Detective 5 dug into the gruesome crimes born of distorted desire, from the chilling "murder diary" of a 21-year-old man who brutally killed a woman he had never met and planned additional crimes to a student's tragic obsession with a former teacher.
On the 20th episode of Brave Detective 5, which aired on tcast E Channel at 9:50 p.m. on the 11th, detective Jang Young-chul, forensic scientist Kim Moon-young, former detective Park Mi-ok and Dr. Hwang Min-gu appeared and revealed behind-the-scenes stories of their relentless pursuit. The first case began when a middle-aged woman was found murdered on a mountainside. The victim, who had descended ahead of her group, was found dead under her vehicle with multiple stab wounds. A man who looked to be in his late teens to early 20s was captured loitering around the vehicle, changing clothes and leaving. A diary found at Mr. Choi's home was filled with notes about purchasing a weapon and planning the crime, and even recorded resentment toward his parents and regret that he could not kill more people. Profiler Kwon Il-yong shook his head, saying, "If the arrest had been delayed, there would have been more victims." Mr. Choi was sentenced to life imprisonment.
In the "unfinished case Q" segment that followed, the tragedy of the 2013 "female teacher murder case" was recounted. The body of a woman in her 30s was found in a box on a building staircase, and the perpetrator turned out to be the victim's former student. The perpetrator developed one-sided feelings for the victim, who had been his counselor in high school, and for four years carried out persistent stalking and threats. Even though the victim forgave him on the condition of treatment, the perpetrator, who had gone abroad, returned under the distorted delusion that "the victim had a lover" and ultimately committed the brutal murder. The perpetrator was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
The program also covered recidivist cases such as a stalker who attacked a fellow public service worker of the same age after being rejected and stalking methods that attempted contact 284 times using small remittance functions, sounding an alarm about twisted obsessions that cannot accept rejection.
