The group UNIS brought fresh energy to living rooms with a lovely Y2K high-teen charm.
UNIS (Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, 코토코, Bang Yunha, 엘리시아, 오윤아, Lim Seowon) appeared on the Dec. 12 broadcast of MBC 'Show! Music Core' to perform the comeback stage for their debut first remake single "Haneulttang Byeoltang".
That day UNIS captivated attention at once with a lovely Y2K look pairing pink-toned tops with denim. The members completed a kitschy yet polished 1990s high-teen sensibility by using cute point items such as knee socks, fur, check patterns and race.
As the stage began, the eight members' popping visuals and energy shone. UNIS showed flawless synchronized choreography and tight coordination even amid chaotic movement, and they distinctively rendered 1990s retro sensibility in a contemporary K-pop style with witty gestures and lovely facial expressions that matched the song's mood.
The new song "Haneulttang Byeoltang," released on the 8th, is a fresh, bright and bubbly reinterpretation by UNIS of the signature hit by the female duo VV that dominated the 1997 music scene. They opened their comeback via Mnet's "M Countdown" on the 10th and captivated attention with a noticeably upgraded stage manner.
Having successfully completed a North America tour across 14 cities and actively promoted overseas with various original Japanese songs, UNIS fully proved their approachable charm that spans all generations with this domestic comeback.
Meanwhile, UNIS is scheduled to appear consecutively on SBS's "Inkigayo," which will air on the 13th, to continue the comeback excitement for "Haneulttang Byeoltang." That day's "Show! Music Core" featured diverse stages with appearances by UNIS as well as Minho, Ryu Sujeong, Monsta X, Kwon Eunbi, VERIVERY, &TEAM, 82MAJOR and others.<
