Comedian Lee Sang Jun takes on a challenge to check off famous restaurants in Japan.
On Studio Double's "Lee Sang Jun's distant eateries," released at 5 p.m. on the 11th, Lee Sang Jun enjoys a proper day trip to Kobe, Japan, despite unexpected variables such as a delayed flight, a late bus and a refusal to film.
Lee Sang Jun headed to Arima Onsen, one of Japan's three great hot springs, his first destination in Kobe, but faced a difficult journey from the start. After the flight delay, the bus was more than 30 minutes late. After many twists and turns, once aboard the bus he was communicating with foreign tourists and even received a request for an autograph from a local fan. When the fan introduced Lee Sang Jun as a "famous Korean comedian," he joked, "Look at my face. You can tell I'm a comedian just by looking."
Startled by the sauna-like heat as soon as he got off the bus, Lee Sang Jun headed to Arima Onsen's signature gold spring and, after nine hours fasting, tasted a beef croquette and was impressed.
At the first restaurant he visited with high expectations, he faced another obstacle: an unexpected refusal to film. Even in the awkward situation, he quickly composed himself, saying, "There are many recommended places, so I'll fill up with other things," and turned toward the next eatery.
Afterward, Lee Sang Jun enjoyed a proper meal of akashiyaki and chirimen rice set and revealed his own "eating routine" of pairing food with draft beer on trips to Japan. At the same time, seemingly disappointed by the filming refusal, he said, "If they say they can't film now, I can't, but even if the channel grows and I ask them to do it, they won't."
After finishing his meal, Lee Sang Jun embarked on a mission to check off the famous snacks along Arima Onsen Street. Despite the successive variables, having successfully completed an energetic mukbang at Arima Onsen, attention turns to whether he can finish the remaining Kobe itinerary safely.
