Singer Ryu Sujeong mentioned the directing by Lee Juck as she prepares to release her first album after changing agencies.
Ryu Sujeong held a release commemorative interview with OSEN on the afternoon of the 8th at a cafe in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for her fourth mini album ALL THE COLORS I AM.
This fourth mini album ALL THE COLORS I AM is an album that captures Ryu Sujeong's unique, deep inner self that does not conform to boundaries. It depicts an honest journey of embracing wounds, becoming stronger over time and finding her own light.
Ahead of the release, Ryu Sujeong said in the interview, "This was the longest gap during my solo activities, so I, too, am waiting for this release with great anticipation and excitement. I feel really good."
Ahead of her first comeback after changing agencies, she explained, "Last year I started an independent label and tried making an album on my own; of course there were many difficult aspects, but it was fun. The company respected that and suggested, how about doing it together? so I joined. We prepared a lot because we put great care into the production."
The new exclusive agency Ryu Sujeong signed with, all my anecdotes, is where Lee Haein, who produced "KISS OF LIFE" and "Close Your Eyes," serves as CCO.
When asked whether Lee Haein influenced her agency decision, Ryu Sujeong said, "I wasn't close with Haein unni, but after my contract with my previous label ended I wrote on Instagram that I was going to work alone, and she contacted me. While talking together she said she wanted to explore another possibility for me, and thought it would be fun, so I decided to do it."
She continued, "Although I have worked as a soloist, I thought the public still remembers me as Lovelyz's Ryu Sujeong. Unni asked, 'How about making your music known to more people as an artist who builds her own music?' With that focus, we prepared," referring to the full-scale music production process.
When asked how Lee Haein's directing was involved, Ryu Sujeong explained, "It gave me the chance to make bold choices. When a female singer has to choose, like 'Should I cut my bangs like this? How should I cut them?' unni tends to decide firmly. If she thinks it's right, she pushes for it, and if not, she knows when to cut it off. While exchanging opinions, she said let's follow her idea. She also chose the outfits, so she decisively supported me."
Meanwhile, Ryu Sujeong's fourth mini album ALL THE COLORS I AM will be released at 6 p.m. on the 11th.
