YouTuber Choi Gogi released that he is remarrying, drawing attention to the life of his ex-wife Yu Kkaenip.
Choi Gogi recently uploaded a video to his YouTube titled "Wedding shoot is next week... she got the bob haircut."
The video showed Choi Gogi preparing to remarry producer Lee Jueun. Upon arriving at the hair salon, producer Lee Jueun said, "I have a wedding shoot next week, and if a bob is okay I'll do a bob," and after transforming into a bob she asked, "Doesn't it feel like meeting a new woman?" Choi Gogi showered her with affection, saying, "Much better. Your face really looks smaller."
Through TV CHOSUN's "X's private life," Choi Gogi, who had revealed he was dating producer Lee Jueun, told OSEN in a phone call that "we did the wedding shoot in advance. I already met and greeted the families, and this time we went to Jeju Island for wedding snapshot photos. We also met and exchanged greetings with (Lee Jueun's) family once more," adding, "We will take our time deciding when to hold the wedding. We don't want to rush it. Still, we plan to do it before it gets hot next year."
Choi Gogi shared his feelings about remarrying, saying, "I think it would be nice if (my daughter) Solip came out at the wedding and spoke, so we're talking about that, but to avoid stressing her out we'll not decide everything in advance and instead do things one by one, like this and that."
News of Choi Gogi's remarriage naturally turned netizens' attention to Yu Kkaenip. Choi Gogi and Yu Kkaenip married in 2016 and had one daughter but divorced in 2020.
Yu Kkaenip faced financial difficulties after the divorce. Although the beauty creator once earned up to 70 million won a month, she had no income for several months after the divorce because there was no division of assets. Last month Yu Kkaenip said she has been working part-time at a café run by her new boyfriend since the divorce, earning minimum wage. Yu Kkaenip explained, "I started working at the café because I need a fixed income to pay child support for my daughter."
However, she recently faced criticism over breast revision surgery. On social media she explained, "I consulted on a breast revision surgery after much consideration. I decided to reduce the size that had been large relative to my small frame while complementing the breasts," but critics objected to the idea that she chose the surgery while working for minimum wage because child support was insufficient.
In response, Yu Kkaenip complained, "I don't know why paying child support with money I earned from working and getting surgery would raise negative questions from others. I previously said I worked because I needed a steady income, not because child support was lacking. I'm tired of laughing it off."
After the divorce, Yu Kkaenip continues her daily life working at the café run by her new boyfriend while Choi Gogi prepares to remarry. The two who have become strangers are each walking their own paths.
