Singer-songwriter Ryu Sujeong, formerly of the group Lovelyz, returns to the music scene with a new album that captures her distinctive musical color.
Ryu Sujeong will release her fourth mini album ALL THE COLORS I AM today (the 11th) at 6 p.m. on various online music sites and begin full-scale activities.
The album ALL THE COLORS I AM is a work that depicts Ryu Sujeong's deep inner self that cannot be defined by a single color. Like a diamond that reveals different hues depending on the angle of light, it portrays the process of finding her own light by honestly embracing various emotions.
In particular, creative director Lee Haein, CCO, led production as the executive producer, and Ryu Sujeong increased the album's completeness by participating in writing the lyrics for all tracks. Centered on alternative hip-hop, a sound that blends pop melodies with psychedelic sensibilities meets Ryu Sujeong's distinctive vocal tone to leave a deep afterglow.
The title track "Diamond" expresses the realization that the value that makes oneself shine already existed within. Over a psychedelic-textured alternative hip-hop sound, Ryu Sujeong's soulful vocals and a minimal, addictive melody combine to deliver strong immersion.
The album includes six carefully arranged tracks: "Crying to," which captures the moment of rising again through tears; "Lucky Charms," which conveys the heart of believing in oneself; "shoulda woulda coulda," which intuitively unravels lingering feelings about a past relationship; "Birthday Cake," which captures an unchanging self on her twenty-ninth birthday; and "Friendly Fire," a dreamy dream-pop track.
Above all, Ryu Sujeong is undertaking a bold promotion by sequentially releasing music videos for all six songs on the new record. After the pre-released "Crying to," the music videos for each track will be opened sequentially, and then the six pieces will be presented as an overall narrative in a combined video.
