Hollywood actress Sharon Stone (68) has candidly confessed that she has maintained a long period of celibacy (asexuality), drawing attention.
Stone recently appeared on Mime Birlik's podcast Breakdown to openly discuss dating, marriage and her experiences within Hollywood.
Stone, who rose to global sex symbol status with the film Basic Instinct, said on the broadcast, "I have been in a state of celibacy for a considerable time." He, who has been married twice, said, "I was a good girlfriend, but for a long time I couldn't be someone's lover," adding, "I've met good boyfriends and bad boyfriends, had times when I was lucky and times when I wasn't, but for a while luck was not on my side at all."
Explaining her reason for choosing celibacy, she said, "Now I want a partner who is not simply someone to sleep with, but someone I genuinely care for and can share my heart with." She added, "The children are grown, and now I want to find a real companion. Simple relationships are boring now."
Stone also said, "There has been love in my life, but I don't think I've met the 'great love' of my life yet," and revealed a prophecy from a fortune teller she met at 23. The fortune teller predicted she would gain worldwide fame but mentioned, "a true connection will come very late, when you are close to 70 years old." Stone said she later heard the same prediction from another fortune teller that she would meet a true partner around age 70.
Meanwhile, Stone delivered a pointed rebuke about the "difficult" label often attached to female actors in Hollywood.
Asked whether she is a "difficult actor," she said, "I am very professional," while noting, "but sometimes when I refuse demands for sex, I'm branded 'difficult.' If that's what it means, I might be the most difficult person in the world." She went on to emphasize, "My sexual allure is reserved only for those I truly cherish."
Stone was married twice, to TV producer Michael Greenburg and journalist Phil Bronstein, before divorcing, and she currently has three adopted sons. Recently, past feud allegations with actor Billy Baldwin, who co-starred with her in the 1993 film Sliver, resurfaced and sparked controversy.
