Regarding "the queen of lawsuits" Kim Ga-yeon, Im Yo-hwan said, "Haven't you sued more than 100 people?" Kim Ga-yeon said, "When people said my husband and I were dating, many malicious comments appeared. There were many malicious comments like why are you with an old woman, and while those parts made me angry, they were tolerable. But when the existence of my daughter was revealed, people began using certain words. We have to live as family for life, and if I didn't catch it here, I thought they would keep tormenting my daughter, so as a mother my anger welled up and I felt like I had to kill them," she said.
At the time, Kim Ga-yeon, who said she mainly watched game communities, said, "After that word appeared I went through every site. I searched constantly all day and looked only for that. The same ID kept posting, and I captured posts by date while maintaining my anger. Because the more posts there are, the higher the sentence, I kept capturing the malicious comments. I underlined the main lines in red so you could tell if it was subject to a lawsuit. Seeing the work, there were more than 80 cases. My desktop was full of evidence materials," she said.
Kim Ga-yeon said, "Every complaint I filed was taken up. It was because the remarks were incestuous. As the story was covered on broadcasts, the malicious commenters who had a moment of realization reduced their comments or, if they did comment, kept within the line. Then I became 'the queen of lawsuits,' but some people mocked me; I once released a sample of who I had sued. I posted on social media text that couldn't be read from start to finish. I showed it saying, 'If you get sued by me, you're really garbage,' and everyone said, 'Given this level, they got sued,'" she said.
Im Yo-hwan said, "At first there were troubles, saying 'why fight over something like this.' When they crossed the line like this and I asked why not act, there was nothing to say. I changed my mind, thinking I should protect and fight, and I thought a precedent was necessary. To protect me, my family and those around me," he said in agreement. Kim Ga-yeon said, "They seem to think paying a fine means it's not a crime. They don't realize it leaves a criminal record. It's regrettable that young people with futures do that," she said.
Kim Ga-yeon mentioned malicious commenters who asked for mercy saying they wrote comments because they were sick, and others who asked for mercy saying the fine was too high because they had to buy baby diapers, and said, "I wanted to make it clear that malicious comments are a crime." Kim Ga-yeon recalled that the starting point of becoming 'the queen of lawsuits' was when she filed a proxy complaint after a female player she recruited as the team's mascot received malicious comments.
