(interview② continued) actor Yoo Hai Jin conveyed the solid support he received from the 'The King's Warden' team.
On the 11th morning at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, an interview was held with lead actor Yoo Hai Jin of the film 'Assassin(s)'.
The film 'Assassin(s)' (director Heo Jin-ho, produced by (주)Hive media corp, distributed by (주)Hive media corp) is a story that traces the suspicions and background of the first lady shooting incident on Aug. 15, 1974, which shocked Korea. Based on the facts surrounding the shooting of the late Yuk Young-soo, the work adds some imagination.
On that day, ahead of the release of 'Assassin(s)', when asked about his thoughts on the film 'The King's Warden' (director Jang Hang-jun) receiving great love earlier this year by surpassing 16.9 million viewers, Yoo Hai Jin said, "It reminded me of when 'The King's Man' did that before. 'The King's Man' had a very small opening, but it gradually grew because of the audience's power. At the time, I was happy thinking, 'pure audiences liked it and that's why it's growing,' and I think it felt like that this time too. As the feeling that audiences genuinely liked it grew slowly, I was really happy when it passed 1 million. While promoting, there was a time on the bus when everyone was so happy and took commemorative photos as if it had passed 10 million. I was so glad they liked it so much."
When asked whether he had received feedback from director Jang Hang-jun regarding the release of 'Assassin(s)', he said, "He watched the trailer and at the Jecheon Film Festival told me, 'Haebal-ah. Even from the trailer it looks like it will do well. So if there's anything I can do to help with promotion, tell me.' And writer Kim Eun-hee said she really wanted to see it. Director Jang Hang-jun said, 'Eun-hee doesn't usually say things like that, but she really wants to see this,' so she planned to attend the VIP screening."
In particular, Park Jihoon, who worked most closely with him in 'The King's Warden', will also attend the VIP screening. Yoo Hai Jin said, "He'll probably come. I thought he'd be hurt if I didn't tell him. 'I know you're busy. (Because I might upset you) I'm inviting you, will you come on the 21st? Don't feel any pressure. I know you're busy. But I thought you'd be upset if I didn't say anything, so I'm sending this message,' and he replied, 'I'm coming!' So I think he'll probably come."
He said, "I invited two people. Min, who plays my son, is coming too. I keep liking Min more. During filming I didn't seem to give him that much affection. Actually his screen time wasn't that much, since I was mainly with Danjong and the main emotions. But lately I see Min often. He seems like a pretty good kid. So I become more attached. I asked, 'Min-ah, will you come if you have time?' and Min said he would probably come," adding anticipation for the long-awaited meeting of the 'The King's Warden' team. (continues in interview④)
