'REAWAKEN MAN: THE RED' teases a thrilling catharsis through colorful action sequences presented by characters with distinct personalities.
REAWAKEN MAN: THE RED (director: Baek, provided/distributed by: Lotte Entertainment, produced by: Yong Film, co-produced by: Superfiction, YLAB, Studio Nungil) is a film about job seeker 'Seok-hwan' (Koo Kyo-hwan), whose baseless confidence is his only qualification, who learns that he has the ability to resurrect within 72 hours after death and then becomes the target of a mysterious chase.
Seok-hwan, who dreamed of an ordinary life like others, discovers after an unexpected death that he becomes stronger each time he resurrects. This novel premise leads to REAWAKEN MAN: THE RED's unique action. Seok-hwan, bewildered by uncontrollable power, progressively displays action that breaks limits, from disarming opponents in the blink of an eye to getting back up immediately even after colliding so hard that walls crumble.
In particular, scenes in which he freely swings a baseball bat to attack and scenes in which he subdues opponents with transcendent strength combine speedy movements and satisfying impact to deliver an exhilarating thrill to audiences.
Meanwhile, Black (Shin Seungho), who has the ability to control others, relentlessly pursues Seok-hwan by any means because Seok-hwan is the only one his ability does not work on, raising the tension of the film. When Black and Seok-hwan confront each other head-on, brutal hand-to-hand combat that does not yield an inch follows, offering an unmissable spectacle.
Meanwhile, Young-ha (Kang Ki-young), who helps Seok-hwan and gets caught up in the chase, shows unexpected driving skills as he narrowly avoids vehicles coming from all directions. The image of an ordinary office worker facing extreme situations is expected to create a fresh sense of fun.
In addition, dynamic scenes that cross everyday spaces, such as shootouts in crowded hotels and market alleys and a thrilling action sequence in a cathedral, are expected to amplify the film's immersion.
