ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'New Recruit 4: Sabotage' continues to generate explosive buzz as it repeatedly breaks its own highest ratings with standout performances that swing between lighthearted laughter and poignant camaraderie.
On the 11th, New Recruit 4: Sabotage (directed by Min Jin-gi and Jo Je-uk, written by Yoon Ki-young and Kim Dan) released behind-the-scenes shots showing the cast's warm camaraderie as they captivate home audiences with perfect team play.
Earlier in the broadcast, the story showed Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho) and Kim Hyun-wook (played by Lee Won-jung), who had been at odds due to a frame and misunderstanding that he was "the division commander's son," finally opening up sincerely and reconciling. Kim Min-ho and Lee Won-jung portrayed the complex, multifaceted emotional arc of becoming true comrades beyond suspicion and confusion, leaving viewers with a deep aftertaste. In the released photos, the two emit bright smiles and affectionate chemistry off camera, adding warmth.
Also captured was company commander Byeon Hyuk-jin, played by Lee Hyun-gyun, who, while pursuing a hard-line course by promoting advanced barracks, was engrossed in the script. Alongside Lee Hyun-gyun, who convincingly conveys the character's sincerity, the "tsundere" officers, the "archrival" administration squad, and the quick back-and-forth in the 3rd barracks complete the cast's chemistry, delivering irreplaceable character play unique to the Shinbong unit.
Buoyed by these passionate performances and tight development, episode 6 recorded a nationwide rating of 4.4% (Nielsen Korea, paid households), setting a new personal high. It rose to No. 2 on Good Data Corporation's Fundex TV-OTT integrated buzz rankings and No. 1 on portal sites' most-searched dramas, proving its soaring popularity.
The production said, "Please watch whether the New Recruits, who are tightly united in the face of the unprecedented whole-unit overnight leave control crisis, will find a breakthrough with an ingenious move," and added, "Please look forward to the comradeship that will grow stronger as they overcome it."
