Actor Seo Kang-jun has finished preparing to seep into living rooms as a "real-life boyfriend" who still makes hearts flutter even after 10 years.
A Love Other Than Yours, a new KBS 2TV Saturday–Sunday miniseries that premieres on the 12th at 9:20 p.m. (directed by Hwang Seung-gi·Lee Ga-ram, written by Yoo Soo-ji), is a relatable real-life romantic drama about a couple in their 10th year of dating whose familiar relationship meets unfamiliar feelings. Seo Kang-jun plays Namgung-ho, a deputy manager at Hunmin Confectionery who has been dating Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin) for 10 years, and brings out a different charm.
Namgung-ho's biggest appeal point is his unchanged warmth over a long 10 years. He is skilled at cooking and housekeeping and has the attentiveness to take care of his partner's meals and small daily matters. Earlier, Seo Kang-jun defined Namgung-ho's love as "sacrifice" and said, "Even if I get hurt a little, I want the other person not to struggle and to be happy," showing his deep understanding of the character.
This attentiveness continues at work. Namgung-ho, deputy manager at Hunmin Confectionery, is nicknamed "Deputy Namgung" for his characteristic charm and sociability, which help him mingle freely with colleagues. In front of his partner he is pure warmth, and at the company he transforms into a reliable colleague people want to work with, adding to expectations for Seo Kang-jun's life-centered acting.
But even he, who seems perfect, has unspoken inner feelings. Having long taken his partner's side and suppressed his own emotions, unfamiliar feelings accumulate in a corner of his heart amid the familiarity of a 10-year relationship. When junior colleague Park Su-a (Jo Aram) appears, he faces sides of himself he did not even know, heightening curiosity.
With sculpted looks, Seo Kang-jun is expected to portray Namgung-ho's emotional changes three-dimensionally, from the friendliness of a real-life boyfriend to the complex inner turmoil shaken by long-standing love. The production team said, "With Seo Kang-jun's unique soft charm and delicate acting, a realistic yet dream boyfriend has been completed," expressing anticipation.
It will reach viewers in more than 240 countries around the world through the global streaming service Amazon Prime Video.<
