YouTuber Choi Go-gi announced plans to marry PD Lee Joo-eun next year.
On the 11th, Choi Go-gi told OSEN in a currency that "the wedding will probably be around next year. We haven't set the schedule extremely tightly," updating the current wedding preparations.
Earlier, Choi Go-gi revealed his girlfriend Lee Joo-eun, three years his junior, whom he has been dating for five years, through TV CHOSUN's "X's privacy," and Lee Joo-eun has lived with Choi Go-gi since the early days of their relationship and is currently helping film as the producer for Choi Go-gi's YouTube channel. Meanwhile, recently she announced via the YouTube channel that they are preparing wedding photos, indicating the wedding is imminent. In fact, because Choi Go-gi had previously said in an interview with OSEN that they planned to marry this year in Jeju, many congratulations and support poured in for the couple who finally tied the knot.
However, on the 11th Choi Go-gi told OSEN that the wedding schedule had been pushed to next year. He said, "We already did the wedding photo shoot. We already greeted all the family members anyway, and we went to Jeju this time for the wedding snap shoot. While there, I met and greeted (Lee Joo-eun's) family once more," saying only the wedding photos have been finished first.
He continued, "We plan to take our time deciding when to hold the wedding. If we hurry it will not be good. Still, we plan to have it before it gets hot next year," he explained.
Originally the plan to hold the wedding in Lee Joo-eun's hometown, Jeju, remained unchanged. Choi Go-gi said, "We will probably move to Jeju to live. After moving, we will have the wedding in Jeju."
He said, "I'm happy about getting married, but it's not like I'm extremely busy; I'm relaxed. It seems to be proceeding smoothly," and added, "I think it would be nice if (my daughter) Sol-ip comes out at the wedding to speak and do things, so we're talking about that, but we don't want her to be stressed, so we won't decide everything in advance; we'll do things one by one like this and like that," he said. Specific details about the wedding have not yet been decided.
With many things left to prepare, Choi Go-gi said, "I'm already very dizzy. I think we need to move first now," and added, "Usually people rush to book and take wedding photos. We took ours in advance and will prepare with those photos and take it easy," saying they will continue preparing slowly.
Meanwhile, Choi Go-gi married his ex-wife Yu Kket-ip in 2016 and had a daughter, Sol-ip, but after divorcing in 2020 he raised their daughter alone. In the meantime he formed a new relationship with Lee Joo-eun, and Lee Joo-eun, as Sol-ip's mother, has steadfastly supported the two and shares warm family moments through social media.<
