Ko Myung Hwan continued, "I woke up at one of the best hospitals in Korea and they told me, 'Your heart could burst and you could die in one second, so quickly make your will first,'" he recalled, startling listeners.
Ko Myung Hwan said, "At that time I had no desire to make a will at all," and confessed, "I thought about it the whole two weeks I was in the intensive care unit. Facing death, I was so frustrated that I had not lived as the true Ko Myung Hwan inside me."
He said, "I realized I didn't need wealth or anything," and added, "I prayed, 'Won't you let me live so I can live even one day as my true self?' Looking back now, I believe that swelling feeling was 'writer Ko Myung Hwan,'" he said, moving listeners.
Meanwhile, Ko Myung Hwan later immersed himself in classical literature and began working as an essayist, and he currently also works as a food service CEO with annual sales exceeding 1 billion won.
