Red Sox's Ro Jungmyung explained why she stopped activities after marriage.
On the 9th, the YouTube channel 'Doctor Shin' uploaded a video titled 'Red Sox's Ro Jungmyung almost debuted as aespa.'
That day Ro Jungmyung said, "Actually after I got married my contact with entertainment people was cut off," and said, "My marriage was almost like a change of status. I got married very early. I got married right after graduating college, so 25?"
Ro Jungmyung explained the reason she married early, saying, "I have strong drive. I became hooked and suddenly had a child," and described her ex-husband, saying, "I met him when I was active with Red Sox. He was a customer who came to the shop that gave perms. He was the male customer of the hair salon owner."
Asked whether her ex-husband had a lot of money, she said, "Not him, but his father existed. They were silver spooned," and added, "Frankly, I liked someone who was capable back then. Because if we're going to eat anyway, I want to eat hanwoo. Frankly, men who could buy hanwoo were not many in our age group back then."
Ro Jungmyung said, "It may sound materialistic, but although he was capable, he was also a very good person. I'm very cautious by nature, and when I like someone I move straight ahead quickly but I'm the type who thinks a lot."
Shin Jeong-hwan asked, "Have you ever thought of quitting (singing)?" and Ro Jungmyung replied, "No? My dreams were big." Ro Jungmyung said about leaving the entertainment world, "I didn't work for 13 years. I had to raise a child, so I was overwhelmed by childcare."
She added, "His family was somewhat conservative and did not want me to go out and do social activities. Meeting friends and handling personal errands were heavily restricted. I needed to get some fresh air, but I had none of that. Since I couldn't meet friends outside, I often invited them home."
Ro Jungmyung also recalled, "I think it was because I gave birth and got married. Until the child was 6 months old my ex-husband could not tell his in-laws. They were very strict people, and he was young too. I think the idea of being responsible for two families when he was not financially prepared must have been an enormous pressure and burden for him."
Ro Jungmyung said, "At the time I couldn't understand my ex-husband's feelings and had feelings of hatred, but living life made me realize he must have had a very hard time then," and said, "Because I found out when I was six months pregnant, my stomach had started to show so we prepared the wedding after the birth; we married three months after the birth."
