Singer Yoonsang revealed that he did not even know about his eldest son Anton's RIIZE debut process, and news that his second son is also preparing to debut as an idol drew attention.
On the 10th broadcast of KBS2 Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, Yoonsang, Anton of RIIZE's father, appeared and shared stories about his two sons.
That day Son Tae Jin said, "I heard from nuna Kim Ina that even the eldest Chanyeong's RIIZE debut was conducted in extreme secrecy," prompting Yoonsang to unexpectedly reply, "I didn't know either," surprising everyone.
Yoonsang recalled the process by which his son Anton chose the path of an idol. It is well known that Anton was active for a long time as a swimmer. Yoonsang said, "Chanyeong's temperament is like that too," noting that during the COVID-19 period, with pools hard to operate, he stopped swimming after about 10 years, and that his son must have been mentally strained at the time.
However, he said he recognized his son's musical talent early on. Yoonsang said that after listening to a demo music Anton had made in the past, he felt musical potential and mentioned the "music DNA" passed down from him.
That did not mean he took his son's idol challenge for granted. Yoonsang said, "Music and idols are different," and added, "It's amazing to see a son who enjoys the stage. There is no dancing in our house," which drew laughter. He also emphasized that his son did not reach his current position by innate talent alone. Watching his son on stage, Yoonsang said, "I'm glad he's working hard and doing well," while also expressing tender feelings, "It feels like he's becoming an adult too quickly, and as a parent that's touching. I wonder how much he must have worked to get to this point."
As a senior in the music industry and as a father, he also supported Anton's future. Yoonsang expressed his hope that his son will continue with music and grow as a musician. He hoped Anton would establish himself as a musician who makes his own music, beyond simply being "Yoonsang's son" or an idol member.
In particular, news that his second son Junyoung is also preparing to debut as an idol drew attention. With the eldest Anton active as a RIIZE member and following his father's footsteps on the path of a musician, interest is growing over whether another idol will be born from the Yoonsang family.
