Singer Soyou, formerly of the group Sistar, revealed her feelings about having to leave for a travel variety show right after her father's death.
In the cable channel KBS Joy variety program "Kkirikkiri," released on the 9th, Soyou was shown pouring out her true feelings after her father's death as she wrapped up the trip.
Soyou, finishing the trip with Lee Chang-seop and Jung Jin-woon, repeatedly said, "But when I think about it, I think I failed to say that yesterday. Thank you. Really, thank you." Lee Chang-seop comforted her, saying, "No, you said it a lot."
In the production crew interview at the end of the trip, Soyou revealed the truth. Soyou choked up as she began, "Actually, right now I haven't even told the production crew. My father had an accident just before I came here. So the day before I came, I saw my father off," and burst into tears.
She added that even immediately after her father's death she participated in the scheduled filming because her mother said, "Still, work is work, so do your job and come back. Father would want that."
She said, "So I was going to not tell the kids either, but at night suddenly someone asked, 'Is something wrong with you?' so I told them. But I feel so sorry for saying that. Then they told me, 'Don't say you're sorry. Don't force yourself to lift your spirits. We'll take care of everything.'"
Soyou expressed gratitude to Jung Jin-woon and Lee Chang-seop, saying, "Because the kids were joking beside me, I laughed a lot because of them, and it was the time I needed. I felt very reassured." Lee Chang-seop sincerely said, "I hope it was a good trip for you."
Soyou earlier lost her father on July 25. After sending off her father, Soyou expressed her feelings, saying, "While living, I don't know if I have ever received so much consolation and warm hearts — I received so much love. During the most difficult time of sending my father off, I sincerely thank everyone who mourned with me, held my hand, and silently stayed by my side. Thanks to each person's heart, I was able to send my father off well. I will not forget the consolation and love you sent me for a long time and will live on."
