Actor Park Gang-seop will appear in "Munmu."
The new epic drama "Munmu," scheduled to air in November on KBS 2TV (directed by Kim Young-jo · Koo Seong-jun / written by Kim Ri-heon · Hong Jin-yi / produced by KeyEast · Monster Union), is a work that deals with the desperate and lonely grand narrative of leaders who bet everything on a single victory amid 600 years of continued wars and upheavals within the three kingdoms.
In the drama, Park Gang-seop plays Yi Zhi (Emperor Gaozong of Tang), the third emperor who succeeded Emperor Taizong of Tang, and gives a passionate performance. Yi Zhi completes the conquest of Goguryeo that his predecessor could not achieve, but he is a figure who is frustrated while trying to seize even Silla with greater ambition.
Park Gang-seop vividly portrays Yi Zhi's complex emotions — a frail body and anxious inner self hidden behind the dignity of a conquering monarch, and the subtle tensions of power — bringing immersion to the Tang narrative, one of the pillars of the drama.
Meanwhile, Park Gang-seop debuted in 2017 with the play "Judo Boy," and has appeared in various works such as "Strangers From Hell," "Royal Secret Inspector Joy," "Newtopia," "Lovers," "Second Shot at Love," "The Dream Life of Mr. Kim" and the films "Broker," and "Adults Don't Know."
