True Story paid tribute to the late writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol.
MBC True Story posted a video on its official channel on the 9th mourning the late writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol, known as "Peter Pan's dad."
True Story said, "We will remember the late Jeon Gyeong-cheol, who dreamed of a Neverland where countless Peter Pans would stay," adding, "We offer our deepest condolences."
The late writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol, who died at 63 while battling liver cancer on the 6th, raised a son with severe autism alone for more than 20 years and received much love.
In April last year, after being given a six-month terminal prognosis, he knocked on the doors of more than 1,000 facilities nationwide to arrange a place for his son who would be left alone after his death, but he was refused.
The story was made public through "Goodbye, Peter Pan," True Story and tvN's You Quiz on the Block, and after help followed, the son found a home at a developmental disability independent living facility in North Chungcheong Province.
Many mourned the death of the late writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol. Chef Yoon Nam-no said, "I want to marinate sweet short ribs and feed them to his son," expressing his overwhelming emotion.
You Quiz on the Block also mourned, saying, "Writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol dreamed until the end that people with developmental disabilities would live in a better world," and added, "We were grateful to be able to convey the writer's wish on You Quiz. We will long remember the heart you left behind."
The late writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol's funeral was held without a mourning hall in accordance with his wishes.
