Jeon Soyeon, leader and producer of the group (G)I-DLE, announces a solo comeback after five years, showcasing her distinctive artistry.
the MBC program Radio Star, airing today (the 9th) at 10:30 p.m., is presented as a special titled "It feels right~ go! artists" featuring Kim Chang-ok, Jang Ki-ha, Swings and Jeon Soyeon.
on the episode, Jeon Soyeon personally shares the behind-the-scenes story of her solo new song in five years, "I'm quitting my job." regarding the provocative song title, she drew a line, saying, "I'm not really quitting my job," and said she playfully explores the "resignation fantasy" that any office worker has probably dreamed of, raising expectations. in particular, unlike her previous attempts that mainly tried overseas band styles, this new song incorporates a "Korean band style" for the first time, and she even contacted senior musicians directly and received permission for homage, increasing curiosity.
she also reveals the secret behind (G)I-DLE's recording directing video, which recorded as many as 11 million views, and discloses her unique know-how of even using "fist punches" in the recording studio to convey rhythm and dynamics precisely. the studio was said to be filled with admiration for Jeon teacher's meticulous attention to not only pitch and rhythm but also members' facial expressions, breathing and hydration.
