"A Trap Called Desire" star Jang Seo-hee begins to take action herself after the death of Director General Na.
On the 9th broadcast of KBS 2TV daily drama A Trap Called Desire (directed by Lee Dae-kyung, Jung Kwang-soo; written by Lee Eun-jin, Koo Ji-won), episode 23 shows Ju Mi-ran (played by Jang Seo-hee) moving to the forefront and manipulating the situation after the death of Director General Na (played by Im Jae-geun).
In the previous broadcast, the hidden ill fate between Ju Mi-ran and Kim Jung-sun (played by Yoon Hae-young), who lived in the same orphanage in childhood, was revealed. Ju Mi-ran, who was supposed to be adopted into a wealthy family in the past, lost the opportunity for adoption because of Kim Jung-sun, and Kim Jung-sun took that place, completely altering the two women's lives.
Seeing Kim Jung-sun as the person who had stolen her life, Ju Mi-ran nursed a grudge for many years and eyed her position. But his choices, marked by revenge and desire, ultimately led to tragedy and triggered further repercussions.
Meanwhile, Wang Geum-ja (played by Seo Kwon-soon) urged her son Go Gi-han (played by Choi Jae-won) to find Go Eun-seol's birth mother and extract a large sum of money. As the conflict surrounding Go Eun-seol's birth secret deepens again, the relationships among the characters become even more entangled.
In the released stills, an unsettling image of Ju Mi-ran was captured, drawing attention. She is seen talking on the phone at times, and at others leaning her head on her hand as if tired, eyes closed and lost in deep thought.
With Director General Na's death forcing Ju Mi-ran to act directly, curiosity grows about what card she will play. In particular, Ju Mi-ran plans to tell Go Eun-seol that she too was a victim of Director General Na. Attention is focused on what scheme Ju Mi-ran will devise as she approaches Go Eun-seol directly and how she will subtly unsettle the other person's psychology with her moves.
The conflict surrounding Kang Hae-ra (played by Joo Saebyeok) also enters a new phase. Kang Hae-ra, who had been angry that her mother-in-law Park So-yeon (played by Park Hyun-jung) regressed mentally to the level of a 10-year-old and blocked her at every turn, shows discomfort when Go Eun-seol becomes entangled with Park So-yeon.
Especially when Park So-yeon shows affection for Go Eun-seol, unlike toward her, Kang Hae-ra cannot hide her unease. Since she had secretly been provoking Park So-yeon's emotions behind Cha Seok-jin's (played by Seol Junghwan) back, all eyes are on what action she might take next.
Here, Ju Mi-ran has also declared that she will confidently resolve Park So-yeon's problem. Whether Kang Hae-ra will back Ju Mi-ran and what choice she will make is another point to watch.
Meanwhile, Cha Seok-jin reconnects with Go Eun-seol through his mother Park So-yeon. Learning that the person who helped his mother was Go Eun-seol, Cha Seok-jin's choice between Go Eun-seol and Kang Hae-ra creates curiosity.
With Ju Mi-ran's full-scale moves, Go Eun-seol's birth secret, the conflict surrounding Kang Hae-ra and Park So-yeon, and Cha Seok-jin's choice all intertwined, the tension in A Trap Called Desire is expected to rise further.
