Singer Lee Sang-woo expressed pride in his second son, who debuted as a band member.
Lee Sang-woo appeared on the KBS 1TV variety program 'Hwang Shin-hye's Let's Live Together,' which aired on the afternoon of the 9th, and spoke about his two sons.
That day Lee Sang-woo said, "I've been in business for 26 years. I started the entertainment business with Jang Nara, Han Ga-in, and the late Wheesung," and said, "These days my son is doing music. He debuted the year before last and a YouTube video reached 26 million views. It's a band and he composes and writes lyrics. The older child plays the trumpet," he said.
Lee Sang-woo's son is Lee Do-hoon of the band Can't Be Blue, who debuted in June 2024. Lee Sang-woo said, "I was determined to make him study music. I couldn't compose, and that became a regret. But when learning music you have to start with rhythm instruments," and explained, "So I taught him drums at age 4, taught him piano at age 7, and attached a professional teacher when he entered middle school. So he started writing songs from age 17. He didn't go to high school. He writes songs very well."
Lee Sang-woo showed Hwang Shin-hye and Yang Jung-a videos of his son and boasted, saying, "I am so proud. I'm so touched I could die," expressing his affection.
He also spoke about his elder son, who has a developmental disability. Lee Sang-woo said, "(My second son) has been like that since he was young. He was like that from birth. When he was about 5 I asked him, 'There is something I'm sorry about. What is your brother like?' and he said, 'Our brother has a disability,'" he said.
Lee Sang-woo said, "I thought he didn't know, but he knew everything. He said, 'I like my brother. If you ask who I like most in the world, it's my brother,'" and added, "Children with developmental disabilities have difficulty communicating. With us there is none of that, but when he goes to his younger brother he strokes his head and plays around," drawing attention.
Lee Sang-woo added, "He never said anything, but he seemed to feel he had to take responsibility for his brother. Hearing that made me so grateful," conveying his tender feelings.
